This index provides access to deeds using the name of the seller of the property. Information in the index includes name of grantor (seller); name of grantee (purchaser); kind of instrument other than deed, if any; volume number and page number where deed is recorded; date of deed and date deed was recorded (month, day, and year); and a short statement providing description and location of the property being transferred. Usually, if more than one grantor or grantee was involved in a transaction, only the first grantor or grantee was listed in the index.

Adair, the forty-fourth Kentucky county, was formed in 1802 from Green County. It is named for General John Adair. Columbia is the county seat.
